In December 2006 we received the sad message that the Borrevejle Sports Centre would be closing at the
end of September 2007. Since then we have been looking for a new facility, which could fulfil yours as well as our needs and demands.
After some time we found Herlufsholm Sports Centre at the outskirts of Naestved. The Sports Centre has almost all
facilities needed to facilitate a large scale outdoor international agility competition. At several areas the facilities are even better than the Borrevejle facilities, and only in the area
“rooms for rent” it will not be possible for us to offer you as attractive conditions as we were used to in Borrevejle.
Nevertheless we are convinced that this will not be a deteriorating factor in our effort of offering you another
memorable agility week with merry contestants from home and abroad making friendships across borders and language barriers - a week with focus on a general respect for our dogs, our fellow
contestants and our agility sport. And let us keep our fingers crossed for a whole week of Danish summer at its best.
During Dania Cup 2008 competitions will be held six out of the seven days. Wednesday has initially been set aside
as a resting day. However we have offered the facilities on Wednesday to the Danish Kennel Club national agility team for possible conduct of unofficial competitions, from which the profit
will go directly to the national team competitors at the World Cup 2008 in Helsinki.
The Herlufsholm Sports Centre is situated in a very beautiful countryside in the outskirts of Naestved of the island of Zealand with “Susåen” as nearest neighbour. There is
plenty of opportunity to go for lovely walks along the stream or in the nearby forrest, cannoeing etc.
Naestved and the surrounding area offers a number of attractions and activity possibilities. Visit the small fishing town Karrebaeksminde, where you can
have a swim in the "Smålandshavet", go shopping, play miniature golf and so on. Experience the fairy-tale atmosphere of Gavnoe Castle, Herlufsholm
Church and Convent, the beautiful provincial churches and lovely village churches, live artisans working according to age-old traditions at Kähler's Ceramics Workshop and Holmegaard
Glassworks, BobBon-Land and the new Fantasy World, the area's plenty exciting art galleries and many more.
