1 = Counts for qualification to the Dania Cup 2008 Final
2
= Participation in class 1 is only allowed for Danish registered dogs with handlers residing in Denmark. No exceptions will be made.

Size categories:

Competition is divided into 3 categories according to shoulder height as per FCI rules:

  • Small/mini dogs:                  Up to 34,99 cm.

  • Medium dogs:                   From 35,00 to 42,99 cm.

  • Large/standard dogs:       43,00 cm and above.

Number of starts per day:

The competition will be conducted in three different competition rings with an average of 350 starts per ring per day.

No limitation will be applied to the number of starts per day per competitor.
However, if you enter the competition with two or more dogs, you must expect to be placed in situations where you are expected to run in more than one ring at the same time. The responsibility of being moved in the starting order, either to the beginning or the end of the class (or group, in case more than one course walk are planned in the class), rests solely with the handler.

If you miss your number in the starting order without prior arrangement with the primary responsible person in the competition ring, you will not be allowed to start in that particular class.

Foreign competitors placement in the Danish classes:

If your home country has official jumping classes, then these determine your placement in the Danish jumping classes.

If your country only has official agility classes, then you start in the equivalent jumping class in Denmark. Results achieved in jumping count only in jumping. The same applies for agility results.

Please observe: Participation in class 1 (both agility and jumping) is ONLY possible for Danish registered dogs with handlers residing in Denmark.
If you – as a foreigner – decide to register a dog in class 2 which is not yet qualified to compete in this class in your home country, we kindly ask you to make a note in your on-line registration about this under remarks, in order to give us the best possible basis to decide whether or not to allow foreign competitors to start in class 1 anyway.

Official classes:

Competition is divided into 3 official classes in accordance with FCI rules and the Danish Kennel Club amendments.

Agility and Jumping class 1:

Only open for dogs not qualified to participate in FCI class 2 or 3. Outplacement to class 2 happens with three faultless runs in class 1 under at least two different judges.

Please observe: Participation in class 1 is only possible for Danish registered dogs with handlers residing in Denmark.

Agility and Jumping class 2:

Only open for dogs out placed from class 1 and not yet qualified to participate in class 3. Outplacement to class 3 happens with three faultless runs placed among the top three competitors, again under at least two different judges.

Agility 3 and Jumping class 3:

Only open for dogs out placed from class 2. In class 3 even dogs who have already earned the Danish Champion/Master title participate. The Danish Champion/Master title is acquired by being placed three times as the best not-yet-champion with no faults under at least two different judges.

All dogs can win agility and jumping certificates in Denmark. Pedigree dogs earn the title of Danish Agility or Jumping Champion by winning three certificates. Non-pedigree dogs earn the title of Danish Agility or Jumping Master. There are no additional requirements regarding the dog being entire or approved for breeding.

Junior classes:

Only open to young handlers between 8 and 16 years of age. In the junior classes only the junior handler and the dog together with the judge are allowed on the course during the run.

Senior classes:

Only open to dogs with an age of 7 years or older at the day of competition. If the dog is registered for participation in the senior classes, this applies during the entire week of competition. Senior classes will – in order to protect our elderly dogs – only be offered in agility and jumping class 2 – i.e. no open classes.

Unofficial classes (Agility and Jumping Open class):

These classes are open to all participants. The level of difficulty is aimed at being in between class 2 and 3. All open classes (Sunday through Friday) count in the ongoing competition, culminating in the Dania Cup 2008 Final.

Qualification for the final of Dania Cup 2008:

To qualify for the final the dog must have at least two counting agility results and one counting jumping result from the five open classes. For a result to be counting the run must be a completed run - i.e. no elimination/disqualification.

The dog is given points according to placement in the class. 1st place = 1 point, 10th place = 10 point etc. All counting results are converted into points. In the case of more than 3 counting results, only the two best agility results and the best jumping result are counted.

The Final of Dania Cup 2008:

A final will be held for each size category: one for standard/large dogs, one for medium and one for small/mini dogs. Participants are limited to the top 15% of the average number of participants in the open classes during the entire week, with a maximum of 25 large, 15 medium and 15 small dogs. The qualifying dogs are the ones with the lowest point total.

The final itself is one run on an agility course. No points are brought forward into the final. Only the starting order is determined by the points earned during the week (lowest score starts last). The Dania Cup 2008 winner is the dog that wins in the Final.

Tail and ear docked dogs:

Dogs who have had their tail or ears docked are – with few exceptions - not allowed to participate. This restriction even applies if the docking of tail or ears is made of veterinary reasons.

For detailed regulation and exceptions we advise you to consult the homepage of the Danish Kennel Klub (DKK) (www.dansk-kennel-klub.dk).
